Only 15% list to data   indicate that they will increase the budget, 17% will spend less on marketing. The marketers expect to spend more budget on social media marketing (35%), direct marketing (21%) and public relations (20%) in 2013.

The role of social media

Social media remain important channels in marketing campaigns; slightly more than one in three marketers expect to spend more budget on these media in 2013. On average, they spend 19% of their marketing budget on social media. In addition, the popularity of Facebook and Google Plus is growing among marketing professionals, at the expense of the social network Hyves.

Content marketing on the rise
In 2013, marketers spent 18% of their budget on content marketing. More than a quarter of respondents indicated that they wanted to invest more in this. The most important resources that marketers use for content marketing are reference stories (35%), blog posts (21%) and the results of market research (21%).
