From the sheer number of Instagram users to the addictive nature of Pinterest and the bizarre ease of reblogging images on Tumblr, I see a trend: the rise of visual content. I’ve been writing articles and giving presentations about it for the past six months. One of them, the rise of visual content, went viral thanks to Slideshare. Their slogan “We make your content go viral” rings true in my case. Here’s my story in text.
Nice big picture Old-school paper magazines have not (yet) been able to do that, a concept like Flipboard had list to data to make sure that their content look really nice digitally on the iPad and iPhone. Until I came across the Pitchfork interview and the Snowfall project of the New York Times. Definitely check them out to see how beautiful digital (moving) images and text can reinforce each other.
Visual content: why now?
For the web iting conference in November 2012, I made a presentation of it: ‘ The rise of visual content ‘. Because the subject was visual content, it also had to be a visual presentation. Over time, I have fortunately sav a lot of beautiful visual examples. I do this with Pinterest , the super handy social tool for saving, categorizing and sharing images.

I have sav beautiful CVs, my visually creat LinkIn contacts, the best infographics and the special dynamic content interview with the band ‘Bat for Lashes’ from Pitchfork. When I saw all these beautiful examples I thought: but how did we do it before? What did most content look like a few years ago? caseno data Then I came up with the idea to add a WORD CV, functional streams from Twitter and iTunes and some bar and pie charts as examples of how we ‘us to’ work. I also wonder what has chang, so identifying the right gambling business segments that we can and want to make it all so much more visual now.
